TR/8/3371 Private Jim Allen of the 51st Battalion, the Hampshire Regiment. Son of Mary and the late Thomas Allen of Ashton. Born in Ashton  in the September Quarter of 1899. Died 25 February 1918 aged 18.

R/24613 Rifleman Alfred Bailey of the 4th Battalion, the Kings Royal Rifles. Son of George and Emily Bailey of Embercombe, Higher Ashton. Born in   Ashton in the December Quarter of 1884. Died 3 September 1918 aged 19.

44737 Private Denis Walter Penhale of the 8th Battalion, the Royal Berkshire Regiment. Son of Lauretta and the late Walter Penhale. Born in Ashton in the March Quarter of 1899. Died 20 September 1918 aged 19.

W.MELVILLE
