1388/SA  2nd Hand William J. Ash of the RNR, HM Trawler Courtier. Son of William and Maria Ash. Born in Kingswear 13 March 1879. Died 11 January 1916 aged 34. Buried Brixham St Mary Churchyard.

DA 16385 Deck Hand David Patrick Barry of the RNR, HMS Louvain. Parents not known. Born in Dumsanway, Ireland in 1877. Died 20 January 1916 aged 20.

MB35 Motor Boatman Ernest Gordon. Bellett of the RNR, Vessel not known.  Son of Ernest and Mary Bellett.  Born in Brixham 1 January 1894. Died 31 December 1922 aged 28.

Skipper John Webber Buley of the RNR, HM Trawler Calumsin. Son of Samuel and Blanche Buley; husband of Amelia Jane Buley. Born in Brixham in 1868, Died 15 November 1917 aged 49.

Skpper Elbert Campion of the RNR, HM Trawler Achilles II. Son of Robert and Elizabeth Campion. Born in Brixham in 1890. Died 20 June 1918. Buried in Brixham non-conformist cemetery.

Temp. Skipper George Carpenter of the RNR, HM Trawler Druntochty converted as an auxiliary patrol minesweeper. Son of  George and Sarah Carpenter. Born in Brixham in 1891.Died 29 January 1918 aged 27 when his ship was lost.

DA 14511 Deck Hand Ernest Carter of the RNR, Grimsby Trawler, Ina William. Son of Harriet and the late Henry Carter. Birth date not known. Died 30 May 1917 aged 20 when his ship was lost.

DA 15436 Deck hand Wilfred George Chalk of the RNR, HM Trawler  Blackmore Vale. Son of George Chalk; husband of Harriet Chalk. Born in Brixham in 1895. Died 1 May 1918 aged 23 when his ship was lost.

DA 3158 Engineman Thomas Lancaster Elliott of the RNR, HM Drifter Clover Bank . Son of Thomas and Susan Elliott; husband of Elizabeth Ann Elliott. Born in Great Yarmouth in 1884. Died 24 April 1916 aged 32 when his ship was lost.

Temp. Skipper Montague Edwin Allen Gulliver of the RNR, HM Trawler Epworth. Husband of Alice Gulliver of Pyrenees Terrace, Brixham. Born in Brixham in 1887. Died 22 May 1917 aged 30 when his ship was lost.

C 2273 Acting 2nd Hand John Harris of the RNR, HM Trawler Borneo. Son of Susan Harris (Born in Tenby) father also at sea. Born in Tenby in 1894. Died 18 June 1917 aged 23 when his ship was lost.

DA 16352 Deck Hand Percy Hart of the RNR, HM PMS Kenilworth, ( paddle mine sweeper). Son of John and Jane Hart of Penzance.  Born in Brixham in 1899. Died of illness 22 February 1919 aged 20
J. H. HOLMES
DA 14909  2nd Hand John Holmes  of the RNR, HM Drifter Silvery Harvest, (a hired net drifter). Husband of Lizzie Holmes. Born in Brixham in 1889.Died 16 May 1918 aged 29. His ship was sunk in a collision. He was rescued but died next day. Buried  in the  cemetery in Branscombe.

SA 1523 2nd Hand Edwin Banfield James of the RNR, HM Trawler Fulmar. Son of John and Louisa James. Born in Brixham in 1888. Died 17 January 1916 aged 28 when his ship was mined and sunk.
W. G. JAMES
DA 2361 2nd Hand William G James of the RNR, HM Trawler Margate. Husband of Maria of Torbay Terrace. Born in Brixham in 1850. Died 24 April 1917 aged 67 when his ship was sunk.
F. P. LAKE
DA 602 Skipper Frederick P Lake of the RNR, HM Else. a prize Q ship captured from the Germans.    . Son of Susan and the late Frederick Lake; husband of Nellie Lake. Born in Brixham in 1893.  Died 13 August 1917 aged 24 when his ship was attacked and damaged.  UB 48 sank the Else next day and the rest of the crew was lost. Also commemorated on the Milford Haven War Memorial. 
W. McKECHNIE
Temp Skipper William McKechnie of the RNR, Osins II, a depot ship for trawlers and drifters based in Malta, formerly known as Osiris. Personal details not known. Died 19 April 1916 through illness.

A 8710 Seaman William Edward Martin  of the RNR, HM Trawler Ingoma (aka Ingomar) Husband of Beatrice Martin. Born in Peterhead 10 August 1860. Died 9 January 1916 aged aged 56.

Deck Hand Peter William W. Medway of the RNR, HM Trawler Evangel converted as mine sweeper,  . Son of William and Susan Medway. Born in Brixham in the June Quarter of 1887. Died 25 March 1917 aged 29 when his ship was lost.

2nd Hand Frances J. Middleton of the RNR. HM PMS Newbury..Son of Francis and Sarah Middleton; husband of Sarah Middleton of Brixham. Born in Brixham in 1865. Died 15 February 1918 aged 53 when his ship was involved in surface action.
J. T. MILLS
ES 3751 Engineman John Thomas Mills of the RNR, HM Drfter Pelagia, Husband of Ethel Mills. Born in Brixham in 1891. Died 28 November 1916 aged 25 when his ship was mined in the English Channel.
J. NORTHCOTT
DA 2449 Engineman John Thomas Northcott of the RNR, HM Trawler Evangel. converted as mine sweeper, Husband of Mary Jane Northcott. Date of  birth not known. Died 25 March 1917 aged 51 whn his ship was lost in St George's Channel.

SA 2038 2nd Hand Thomas Strong  Pine of the RNR, HM Trawler Sapper. Husband of Elizabeth Pine. Born in 1870. Died 29 December 1917 aged 47 when his ship was mined and sunk.

SD 415 Deck Hand James H Preston of the RNR, HM Trawler  Vitality. Son of William and Sarah Preston. Born in 1890. Died 20 October 1917 aged 27 when his ship was mined and sunk. Died in the UK.

T 2943 Acting Leading Stoker  of the RNR, HMS Goliath. Parents not known. Born in Brixham in the September Quarter of 1879. Died 13 May 1915 aged 36 at Gallipoli.

SA 1231 2nd Hand Harry J. Smith of the RNR, HM Trawler Senator. Son of Edward Smith of Plymouth; husband of Frances Smith. Born in 1889. Died 21 May 1917 aged 28 when his ship was mined and sunk off Ireland.

C 2845 Seaman Walter Stamp of the RNR ,HMS  Victory (The Royal Naval Base Barracks). Son of Edwin and Jemima Stamp; husband of Ellen Stamp. Born in Brixham in 1881. Died 22 December 1916 aged 35 through illness. Buried in Brixham cemetery.

Skipper Silvanus Eales Worth of the RNR, HM Drifter Emulate. Son of Harry and Ann Worth; husband of Alice Worth. Born in Brixham in 1896. Died 21 April 1917 aged 31 when he drowned.
