This is may be a mistaken entry: Like other Devon men, it looks as though he survived and his name should not be on the memorial.

Sidney George Oxenham, son of Charles and Susannah Oxenham; husband of Lily Oxenham. Born in Chagford in the December Quarter of 1877. Died in Newton Abbot in the December Quarter of 1966 aged 91.
