The Coldridge Roll of Honour hangs on a wall of the Parish Church of St. Matthew. It contains the names of 43 men associated with the parish who fought in the Great War 1914 - 1918.  Surmounted by an illuminated title and border, is a hand-written list of those who served, the names of those who did not come home being underlined.

 

SIDNEY COCKERHAM
Leading Stoker Sidney Cockerham of the Royal Navy, HMS Lion. Born in 1881 in Coldridge, he was the son of John and Ellen Cockerham.
FRED LEACH
Stoker Petty Officer Fred Leach of the Royal Navy, HMS Lion. Born in Down St. Mary in the December Quarter of 1876, he was the son of John and Elizabeth Leach.
JOHN VERNON
Stoker John Vernon of the Royal Navy, HMS Indefatigable . Born in Coldridge in 1895, he was the son of Elizabeth Ann and Robert Vernon.
JAMES FARLEY
Private James Farley of the 8th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment.
JOHN LEACH
Private (Acting Corporal) John Leach of the 8th Battalion Mobile Gun System, the Devonshire Regiment. Born in 1898, he was the son of James and Eliza Leach of Coldridge.
WILLIAM WEBBER
Trooper William Webber of the 1st Battalion, the Royal Devon Yeomanry. Born in Morchard Bishop in the June Quarter of 1894 in Coldridge, he was the son of Frederick and Mary Webber of Coldridge.
HARRY WEBBER
Private Harry Webber of the 3rd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Born in Morchard Bishop in the March Quarter of 1898, he was the son of Frederick and Mary Webber of Coldridge and brother of William Webber (above).
GEORGE LEACH
Gunner George J. A. Leach of the Royal Garrison Artillery. Born in Coldridge in 1894 he was the son of William and Ellen Leach of Coldridge/

Sergeant  Charles S. Leach of the Royal Engineers, the Wessex Regiment. Born in Coldridge in 1895, he was the son of William and Ellen Leach and brother of George Leach (above),
BERTIE P. LINDSAY
Private Bertram Peter Lindsay of the 1/4th Battalion the London Scottish Regiment. Born in South Kensington in 1893, as a child he came to live in Coldridge where his father was the schoolmaster. He was the son of David and Mary Lindsay. He died on 28 March 1918 aged 25.
JOHN K WEBBER
Private John Kelland Webber of the 3rd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. born in Coldridge in the March Quarter of 1894.
HERBERT RICHARDS
Corporal Herbert Richards of the 8th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. 
THOMAS MILTON
Private Thomas Milton of the 3rd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Born in the June Quarter of 1893 in Coldridge, he was the son of John and Ellen Milton. Details of his death not yet confirmed.
GEORGE PARKER
Private George William Parker (registered as William George) of the 9th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of William and Mary Parker. Born at Coldridge in the December Quarter of  1894, he died 26 October 1917 aged 23.
RICHARD WESTAWAY
Driver Richard Westaway of the Royal Engineers. Born in Coldridge in the December Quarter of 1895, he was the son of John and Emma Westaway.
CHARLES WALDRON
Private Charles William Waldron of the 11th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Born in Coldridge in the December Quarter of 1896,  he was the son of Samuel and Phoebe Waldron,
SAMUEL PHILLIPS (SLOMAN)
Private Samuel Phillips of the 25th Battalion, the Australian Infantry. Born in 1881, the son of Mrs. Ann Sloman of Peeks Leigh, Coldridge. Died 14 November 1916 aged 35.
WILLIAM DYMOND
Driver William J Dymond of the Royal Horse Artillery. Born in Coldridge in 1889, he was the son of Henry and Emma Dymond.
JOHN WESTAWAY
Private John Westaway of the Canadian Scottish Regiment. Born in Coldridge in 1889, he was the son of John and Grace Westaway.
THOMAS BLAKE
Private Thomas Blake of the 1st Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Born in Coldridge in 1893, he was the son of James and Mary Jane Blake
WILLIAM SAMPSON
Private William Sampson of the Royal Army Medical Corps. Born in Coldridge in the December Quarter of 1896, he was the son of James and Emily Sampson. 
JOHN HEAL
Private John Heal of the 3rd Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Born in Sandford in 1891, he was the son of John and Rhoda Heal.

Private Henry Burroughs of the 6th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Born in Coldridge in the December Quarter of 1893, he was the son of Francis and Emma Burrows and brother of Charles and John (below).
CHARLES BURROWS
Private Charles Burrows of the 6th Battalion, the Devonshire regiment. Born in Coldridge in the December Quarter of 1896, he was the son of Francis and Emma Burrows and brother of Henry (above) and John (below).
JOHN BURROWS
Private John Burrows of the Royal Engineers. Born in Coldridge in the March Quarter of 1898, he was the son of Francis and Emma Burrows and brother of Henry and Charles (above).
THOMAS MANLEY
Private Thomas Manley of the Royal Garrison Artillery. Born in Coldridge in the December Quarter of 1879, he was the son of Robert and Elizabeth Manley and brother of Richard and William (below).

Private Richard Manley of the Warwickshire Regiment. Born in Coldridge in the March Quarter of 1882, he was the son of Robert and Elizabeth Manley and brother of Thomas (above) and William (below).

WILLIAM TRIGGER
Private William Trigger of the Royal Engineers. His details are not yet confirmed but it is thought that he may have been born in Sandford.
HENRY SAMPSON
Private Henry Sampson of the Royal Engineers. Born in Coldridge in the December Quarter of 1889.
IAN LINDSAY
Private Ian Webster Lindsay of the Somerset Light Infantry Training Reserve.  Born in the September Quarter of 1898 in Coldridge where his father was the schoolmaster. He was the son of David and Mary Lindsay. 
JOHN PARKER
Private John Parker of the 4th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Born in Coldridge in 1880, he was the son of William and Judith Parker.
SAM DYMOND
Private Samuel Dymond of the Australian Infantry. Believed to have been a son of .Henry and Emma Dymond of Coldridge.
JOHN MORRITT
Staff Sergeant John Morrit of the 13th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. His link with Coldridge is not yet confirmed.
HERBERT KEENOR
Private Herbert Keenor of the 13th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Born in Coldridge in the September Quarter of 1886 , he was the son of John and Ann Keenor.
FREDERICK RICE
Private Frederick William J. P. Rice of the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry. He was born in the March Quarter of 1893.
CHARLES ROUNSLEY
Trooper Charles F. Rounsley of the 10th Hussars. Son of James and Emma Rounsley.
ERNEST WALDRON
Private Ernest  G. Waldron of the 5th Battalion, the Dorsetshire Regiment. Son of Samuel and Phoebe Waldron. Born in Coldridge in Coldridge in the September Quarter of 1892. Died 10 August 1918 aged 26.

Private Ernest Webber Royal Field Artillery Born in 1895 June, he was the son of Frederick and Mary Webber. Brother of Samuel (see below).
SAMUEL WEBBER
Private Samuel Webber of the Hampshire Regiment. Born in Coldridge in the June Quarter of 1899, he was the son of Frederick and Mary Webber. Brother of Ernest (see above).
BERTRAM WESTAWAY
Private Bertie George Westaway of the Royal Marines Born in Zeal Monachorum in December of 1897, he was the son of John and Grace Westaway.
SAMUEL BIBBINGS
Private Samuel Bibbings 3rd Labour Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Born in Coldridge in the December Quarter of 1898, he was the son of William and Alice Bibbings.
