D/224159 Leading Seaman William J. Bennett of the Royal Navy, HMS Escapade. Son of George and Anna Bennett. Born in Moreton in the December Quarter of 1887. Drowned while helping in a rescue attempt 5 December 1939 aged 52.

1547298 Private Leslie Charles Colwill of the Royal Army Service Corps. Son of Sidney and Bessie Colwill. Born in Moreton in the September Quarter of 1916. Died 6 December 1944 aged 28 and buried in Italy.
