Parracombe War Memorial 1939 - 1945 ©Richard J Brine Richard Barton was killed in Northern Ireland in 1971 during the Troubles there. He was a private in the Parchute Regiment and was shot while on patrol in Anderstown, Belfast on 14 July 1971 aged 24 - just two months before his wedding day |
