220840 Driver Henry Harvey of the 277th Brigade, the Royal Field Artillery. Son of William and Susanna of Sheepwash. Born in Sheepwash in 1895. Died 28 August 1917 aged 22.

Is this the youngest Devon soldier to die in the Great War. Perhaps you could check this entry for us and either confirm or deny the facts? Lads under 16 were supposed to be sent home once their sge was discovered.

10706 Private Thomas Dudley Jones of the 8th Battalion, the Devonshire Regiment. Son of David and Annie Jones. Born in  Lladdeniolen, Wales. Died 25 September 1915 aged 15.

R/38946Rifleman Raymond Leslie Smale of the 18th Battalion, the King's Royal Rifle Corps. Son of Ernest and Georgina Smale of Buddle Cottage, Sheepwash; husband of Eliza Smale. Born in Kettering, Northants in 1898. Died 24 March 1918 aged 19.

178183 Private Otho Harry Woodley of the Machine Gun Infantry. Son of Henry and Salome Woodley of the The Square, Sheepwash. Born in Launceston, Cornwall in the December Quarter of 1895. Died 12 November  1918 aged 24. Buried in Sheepwash Churchyard.
