TOPSHAM QUAY BRANCH RAILWAY

 

 

How many people walking down Holman Way in Topsham towards the River Exe realise that they are walking along the track of a railway line. Perhaps the original footbridge which still carried pedestrians over the road will give a clue. 

Alex Seal has written the story of this little branch line, just "32 chains" in length. (An English chain = 66 feet). Read it by going to
