Flight Sergeant Frederick Samuel Bowden of 57 Squadron, the Royal Air Force. Son of Alfred and Charlotte Bowden; husband of Vera Bowden of West Alvington. Born in Devonport in the June Quarter of 1907. Died 15 November 1939 aged 32.
JAMES KNOWLES
Lieutenant James ("Jimmy") Mercer Knowles of the Royal Navy, HMS Neptune. Born in Lancashire in the September Quarter of 1918. Died 19 December 1941 aged 23.
ROY LOWDEN
Private Roy Lowden of the Pioneer Corps. Son of William and Mary Lowden of West Alvington. Born in West Alvington in 1922. Died 3 November 1943 aged 21. Buried in All Saints Churchyard, West Alvington.
HARRY MORGAN
Sergeant (Air Gunner) Harry James Morgan of 514 Squadron, the Royal Air Force. Son of Henry and Kathleen Morgan (née Bodman); husband of Dorothy May Morgan of Kingsbridge. Born in the December Quarter of 1919. Died 30 June 1944 aged 24.
GEOFFREY STEER
Flight Sergeant Geoffrey Sturtridge Steer of 149 Squadron, the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. Son of Ernest and Evelyn Steer. Born in West Alvington in the June Quarter of 1923. Died 28 August 1943 aged 20. Buried in All Saints Churchyard, West Alvington.
WILLIAM STEPHENS
Corporal William Edward Stephens of the 1st Battalion, the Duke of Wellington's West Riding Regiment. Son of Edward and Nellie Stephens (née Roisetter). Born in Devonport in the September Quarter of 1912. Died 6 June 1943 aged 31.
